  14. The  only chance to gain NEW users is price - though the Amiga  may be
  15. more  powerful (OS,...) than PCs/Macs, those are mostly easier to use
  16. (well not to use, but at  least they can work with  all the standards).
  17. There has to be a lowend new Amiga that should not cost more than 500 -
  18. 700 Mark (400 US$ ?). Integrate and get rid off the expensive costum
  19. chips, try to use simms, put  it in a small beautiful case, as small as
  20. the A600 (still like the tiny carry-and-compute case),  as beautiful as
  21. apples design studies and make 2 different machines for middle and high
  22. end users...
  23. As Manfred  Schmitt (Escom) said, "there is  a market for homecomputing
  24. under 1000 Mark" - yes, but  the  current Surfer  costs 1200 DM. This is
  25. too much, if a pentium costs only 1600 on the next shelv.
  26. Non-Computer-fans will not buy  either, people who  need a pc for
  27. wordprocessing (most students, anyone  who writes regularly), will vote
  28. for a pc, and the multimedia people are attracted by cheap macs / bad
  29. "multimedia" pcs (though  scala is said to be better on pc now than it
  30. is on the amiga)...

  32. I hope AT can offer more for less - the only chance we have (though I
  33. will use my amiga for music/www for some time, even if AT would crash).
